In the course of Peres’s visit to the UK , which will begin on November 18, the president will meet with British Prime Minister Gordon Brown and British Foreign Secretary David Miliband.
One of the peaks of Peres’s visit is expected to be his speech before the two houses of the British Parliament.
Peres is also scheduled to visit Oxford University , where he will speak to 1,000 students. He will also meet with university leaders and will call on them to desist from the academic boycott of Israel.”
This pathological liar and major war criminal is being knighted for his “contribution to peace”? Her Majesty’s sense of humour is, I confess, far too dark for my taste. Still, once knighted His Peaceiness will, at least, stand in good company.

Have a watch of this recent interview Peres did with Al Jazeera. It’s really amazing how he manages to lie without pause for over 20 minutes without breaking character once.

I certainly hope so – we should definitely try to make something positive out of this (his talk at the Oxford Union would probably be a good opportunity to make some noise). If the knighthood were being bestowed on someone like Sharon or Netanyahu there would definitely be significant protest, but my impression is that outside staunch ‘pro-Palestinian’ circles Peres is unfortunately viewed as something of a dove. Time to correct the record, methinks.
