Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert speaking earlier this week about the farcical “peace process” between Israel and the Palestinian Authority:
“We want it [peace]. They want it. We have to agree. It’s not easy. It takes time … Those who want peace, those who want good neighborly relations, will prevail … These are not empty talks. We are very serious”.
According to a recent poll, a large majority of Palestinians disagree:
‘The vast majority of people in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip believe the continuous meetings between Palestinian Authority president Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert serve little purpose, according to a poll by the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research. 74.9 per cent of respondents think the meetings are unbeneficial and should stop.’
